Sports were an important part of daily life for the average soldier at Camp Adair, providing recreation, friendly competition, and a break from the demands of military training. Soldiers took every opportunity to participate in athletics. The Field House hosted basketball games and boxing matches, while outdoor courts were available for basketball. Football was also a popular activity, and baseball was one of the camp's favorite sports.

In 1943, the 104th Timberwolves became Oregon Division champions, demonstrating just how important baseball was at Camp Adair.

For indoor recreation, soldiers could also play pool and table tennis in the day rooms throughout the camp.
